What EH 03 means on a Lennox
The indoor blower is not reaching the commanded speed or is not reporting its speed. It may be jammed, dirty, failing, or unplugged.
On this platform, EH 03 is a fault: something has failed or is disconnected and needs diagnosis.
Common causes
- Debris or a broken part jamming the blower wheel.
- A dirt-caked blower wheel.
- A failing DC fan motor or loose feedback wire.
- A failed fan drive circuit on the board.
How to fix it yourself
Work through the checks below first; they resolve most cases. If they do not, the repair itself may need a technician.
- Reset the system: switch the breaker (or the outdoor disconnect) off, wait a full five minutes so the boards fully discharge, then switch it back on and restart from the remote.
- With power off, remove the filters and spin the blower wheel by hand; it should turn freely and quietly.
- Clear and clean the wheel.
- Reseat the fan motor plug on the indoor board.
- Restart and listen: a hum without rotation means the motor.
Switch off power at the breaker before opening either unit. Capacitors in the outdoor unit hold a charge for several minutes after power is cut.

The fan motor is a moderate DIY swap. If it spins freely and the plug is tight but the code persists, the board is the suspect.

This page applies to Lennox MPA / MPB / MLA single-zone, MPA / MPB / MLA multi-zone, MCB / MWCB, MWMA / MWMB, MCFA / MCFB and MMDA / MMDB units on the MCB / MWCB indoor unit display. Lennox's own documentation lists EH 03 as "Indoor fan speed out of control", the same definition used across the Midea platform (four-character codes) it is built on. If your unit shows a code with a different shape (for example a four-character code, or a plain number), it is from a different table; use the lookup with your exact code.

MCB / MWCB indoor unit display: The display shows a two-letter prefix and a two-character suffix, either together (EH60) or alternating (EH, then 60). Write both parts down; the suffix is what identifies the fault. EH and EL are indoor-side faults, EC is an outdoor-side fault, and PC is an outdoor protection: the unit stopped itself to prevent damage.

Can I reset a Lennox EH 03 code myself?
Yes. Turn the system off at the breaker for five minutes, then restart it. If EH 03 comes back, the fault is real and needs the checks above.
Is it safe to keep running a Lennox showing EH 03?
The unit will usually refuse to run, or run with reduced output, until the fault is cleared. Repeated resets do not fix anything and can mask a problem that is getting worse.
